Program Mission
The PA2SS Program is designed to assist first year and transfer students with their transition to UConn. By being matched up with a peer mentor, incoming students have better opportunities to learn of resources available to them, be encouraged to participate in both AACC, and campus events, and interact with students with similar experiences.

Required Skills
Strong leadership, academic, and communication skills. Good University standing (both academic & judicial). Full-time students at UConn, Storrs campus.

Training
Continual. Mentors and mentees will enroll in a 1-credit course in the Fall semester.
 
     
  Basic Description  
 
   
Type of Peer Educator Motivated student interested in helping fellow students. Must be full-time students at UConn, Storrs campus.
Responsibilities

A PA2SS Mentor will provide guidance to first-year and transfer students. Mentors and mentees should work together to structure their relationship. Examples of ways mentors could assist mentees are as follows:

  • Provide assistance with campus resources (Parking, Residential Life, AACC, etc).
  • Introduce your mentee to the UConn community (Students, staff, and faculty).
  • Suggest and attend AACC and campus events with mentee.
  • Be another resource at your mentee’s disposal as they make the transition to life at UConn
